OnePlus 3, 3T Appear To Have Crooked Camera Bump Issue
Many OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T owners are reporting that the camera bumps on their devices are slightly crooked. It appears as though this is not an isolated issue, and OnePlus hasn’t acknowledged the defect yet.
The discovery was made when a Reddit user with the name “hyperjit” shared a photo of his newly purchased matte black OnePlus 3T Colette Edition. Based on the picture, it’s clear that the camera bump on the back is indeed slightly crooked.
As of press time, the Reddit thread has a 91% upvote rating and 122 comments. The comments revealed that some other OnePlus 3/3T owners noticed the same issue on their respective units as well. “It's a bit crooked on many phones. Including mine. This one is quite extreme,” one user replied on the thread.
The thread has now become a place where users are sharing whether their OnePlus device has the same issue. By the looks of it, this isn’t a widespread problem and may simply be an oversight on quality control during manufacturing and or assembly. Most users on the thread seem to have no issue with their devices, according to Android Authority.
Users that have reported the crooked camera bump issue haven’t commented on whether it has affected image or video quality. It’s most likely that the crookedness of the camera bump isn’t affecting performance at all. The internal components of the camera may have not been affected.
OnePlus hasn’t acknowledged the issue yet, but users should call customer support if they notice the same problem on their handsets. It’s possible that OnePlus could have it fixed and some user could even be eligible for a replacement.
In other OnePlus related news, the Chinese phone maker’s website is currently counting down for an announcement later today. It’s being speculated that the company might be bringing the Colette Edition’s matte black color option to the regular OnePlus 3T.
