OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 5X: Specs, Design, Features And Price Showdown
After comparing the powerhouse OnePlus 3 with the Huawei-made Nexus 6P, it’s time to check out the differences and commonalities between the LG-built Nexus 5X and the flagship killer.
OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 5X: Price
The 64GB model of the OnePlus 3 can now be purchased for $399 in the U.S. Meanwhile, the 32GB version of the LG Nexus 5X is available at a massively discounted price of $291.90 for a limited period of time on Amazon, with free shipping service and manufacturer warranty in tow.
OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 5X: Display, Design
While the OnePlus 3 features a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution, the Nexus 5X carries a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display, but the resolution is same as the OnePlus device. Therefore, the pixel densities of both handsets top 400+ ppi.
Speaking of design, according to Trusted Reviews , the OnePlus 3 looks very similar to the flagship HTC 10 predominantly because of the unibody design. HTC has always stuck to unibody design for its flagships. However, until now, OnePlus has been known for its glossy plastic chassis.
Again, similar to HTC 10, the OnePlus 3 flaunts a large camera unit at the back and the antenna lines ply through the back panel. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 panel protects display. OnePlus has made use of anodized aluminium for the body and the edges are curved to give a smooth look.
Google Nexus 5X, on the other hand, flaunts the same polycarbonate chassis, seen in many LG-made devices, especially flagships like LG G3 and LG G4. However, to add the premium quotient, much like the G4, a metallic frame runs through the corners of the Nexus handset, Tech Radar noted.
OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 5X: Under The Hood
The OnePlus 3 comes powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC, whereas the Nexus 5X settles for last year’s Snapdragon 808 chip.
The icing on the cake is the 6GB RAM configuration of the OnePlus 3. The Nexus device, on the other hand, carries 2GB of RAM. The OnePlus handset comes equipped with 64GB of internal storage space, while Google offers both 16GB and 32GB of native storage choices. However, both handsets do not support miscroSD card.
Technically, both phones run Marshmallow OS out of the box. However, to be specific, the OnePlus device makes use of Android 6.0-based Oxygen OS.
OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 5X: Camera, Battery
The OnePlus 3 sports a cool 16-megapixel sensor at the back with an LED flash, whereas the Nexus device carries a 12.3-megapixel shooter with a dual-LED flash.
Nevertheless, OnePlus supports OIS, but the Google device doesn’t. At the front, the Chinese tech titan has added a generous 8-megapixel selfie-clicker, while Google settles for the standard 5-megapixel snapper.
Battery-wise, OnePlus and Google have housed Li-Ion 3,000 mAh and Li-Po 2,700 mAh cells, respectively. Both battery units are non replaceable. While the OnePlus 3 supports fast charging feature with the help of Dash Charge, the Google handset doesn’t.
OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 5X: Additional Features
- Both devices support Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and fingerprint sensor.
- The OnePlus handset supports dual-SIM cards, while the 5X doesn’t
