Oprah Winfrey’s Favorite Books Of 2020 And Where To Buy Them
Oprah Winfrey has launched her next book club recommendations, only this time, they are a series of seven books that she will cover from now until Nov. 30.
The change in the Oprah Book Club approach comes as the world enters what Winfrey called “uncertain times.” Her book choices are ones that, over the years, have offered her “wisdom, solace, and inspiration” even in the “darkest moments.”
The titles are labeled as “The Books That Help Me Through,” and Winfrey said she hopes they will be of “comfort” to others that read them too.
The former TV talk show host will be providing conversations on each of the seven titles on her Oprah’s Book Club social media accounts every Monday for the next six weeks.
Oprah's new favorite books of 2020, which are a mix of fiction and nonfiction titles, are available for download on Apple and for purchase on Amazon.
- “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle
- “The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels” by Jon Meacham
- “Devotions” by the late, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver
- “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates
- “The Fire Next Time” by James Baldwin
- “Song of Solomon” by Toni Morrison
- “When the Light of the World Was Subdued, Our Songs Came Through,” a Norton Anthology of Native Nations Poetry
“In each of these books, and for various reasons, I find comfort, beauty, inspiration, reassurance," Winfrey said Monday. "At a time when the ground is shifting beneath us, we need to continue to find ways of living our best lives, and for me, there is no best life without books.”
