‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 3 Theories: 4 Things Fans Want To See In 2015
Christmas may be over, but our “Orange Is the New Black” wish list is just taking shape. Although Season 3 of the Netflix series is still months away, we’ve compiled a list of things we’d love to see at Litchfield Penitentiary in 2015 – even if the odds are against us! Check them out:
1. The Return of Pornstache
Pablo Schreiber, who plays the character we all love to hate on “OITNB,” revealed that George Mendez will not appear in the new season. “I’m a series regular now on a show called ‘The Brink’ on HBO,” he said in an interview with Vulture. “But his mother is making an appearance on Season 3.”
Yes, Pornstache might be MIA, but his mom, played by Mary Steenburgen, will pick up the “mustachioed” slack. “I’m not sure what she’ll do that will advance the Pornstache plotline, but for now, Mendez is in prison, biding his time. Spoiler alert!”
Fingers crossed that Pornstache at least makes a cameo appearance.
2. Vee’s Big, Bad Reprisal
Lorraine Toussaint, who portrayed Vee, Litchfield’s biggest bully, teased that her character might not be so dead after all. In the Season 2 finale, Vee was run over by Miss Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat). However, her fate was never fully revealed. Did Vee survive the hit-and-run? Or did karma finally catch up to her?
In an interview with Buzzfeed, the actress offered a hint. “We’re not sure if Vee is dead,” she teased. “She could be dead, she could not be dead. That’s an open-ended question still. Isn’t that a scary proposition? She might need to be dead. I don’t know.”
3. Flaca (Jackie Cruz) and Maritza (Diane Guerrero) Romance
We know these two claim to be just buddies, but we can’t be the only ones who saw a spark during their kitchen kiss! “I always love talking about it,” Cruz told WetPaint about the smooch. “It’s one of my favorite scenes to shoot because we got to see Flaca’s vulnerability, something different. It was touching, it was emotional, it was sad – that’s what I felt and I hope that people saw that.”
However, when Cruz was asked if fans should anticipate the pair growing even closer in Season 3, she said no. “They’re just friends, so I don’t think anything romantic will happen.” Anyone else cheering for these two to change their relationship status to "taken"?
4. The Gay Agenda Prevails
Big Boo (Lea DeLaria) and Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) grew close at the end of Season 2 thanks to Mr. Healy’s (Michael Harney) worries over the alleged "agenda of the gays" to take over the world and make men obsolete. So, Pennsatucky went straight to the source to get the skinny on what they really have planned for world domination.
Big Boo played along with this ridiculous idea, and we hope she continues the act when Season 3 comes around. Can you imagine what Healy would do if he saw a "gay agenda" club pop up in the prison?
