‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 6 Spoilers: 4 Things Learned From Trailer
The “Orange Is The New Black” Season 6 trailer has finally premiered, teasing what happened to the Litchfield inmates who hid in the bunker while the other prisoners were taken to new facilities.
When the Netflix series returns, viewers will see some of their favorite characters adjusting to life in maximum security while dealing with the consequences from the Season 5 riot.
Check out these 4 spoilers we learned from the “Orange Is The New Black” Season 6 trailer.
1. Crazy Eyes Must Stand On Her Own
In the “Orange Is The New Black” Season 6 trailer, Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba), who is wearing a pink uniform, approaches Taystee (Danielle Brooks) and Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore) and realizes she is no longer welcomed in their group. Last season on the Netflix series, the women had a hard time controlling Suzanne, who was off of her meds, and it appears they have not forgiven her behavior. The rejection weighs heavy on the confused inmate, who later explains her struggle to understand the difficulty of navigating adult female friendships.
2. There Is An Investigation About The Season 5 Riot
In the “OITNB” trailer, Red (Kate Mulgrew), Ruiz (Jessica Pimentel) and Taystee appear to be anxious about the probe into the riot that occurred after Poussey’s (Samira Wiley) death. Red realizes the higher-ups want to see them go down regardless of what they did or didn’t do as Ruiz begins to break down after discovering it may be a long time before she can get home to her baby girl. Meanwhile, Taystee admits she’s genuinely afraid for what is in store for her future.
3. The Rules Have Changed
When the ladies were in general population, they were separated into groups based on their race. However, in maximum security, Piper (Taylor Schilling) reveals skin color is no longer an important factor. Instead the color prison uniform you wear dictates which group you belong to. This season, there will be a war between the blues and khakis, but pink uniforms will be safe.
4. More Time Could Be Added To Prison Sentences
In the Netflix promo, an officer is seen standing in front of an investigation board divided into three columns titled, “MURDER,” “CHARGES,” and “RIOT LEADERS.” Under the “MURDER” column are photos of Daya (Dascha Polanco), Cindy and Frieda (Dale Soules). Pictures of Blanca (Laura Gómez), Gloria (Selenis Leyva) and Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) are found under the “RIOT LEADERS” category.
The ladies stand to get charged with life in prison or an additional 10 or more years added to their sentence. Will they turn on each other in order to receive a lesser sentence?
“Orange Is The New Black” Season 6 premieres Friday, July 27 on Netflix.
