An Oregon teenager hit his father in the head with a beer bottle during an altercation over who drank whose beer.

On Sunday (May 24), 18-year-old Felix Agustin Crisostomo was arrested from his home on North Elizabeth Street, in Milton-Freewater.

Crisostomo and his 53-year-old father were having some beer at their home Sunday night. The duo got into an argument over the beer. What started as a fierce verbal exchange eventually escalated and got physical.

According to Milton-Freewater Police Chief Doug Boedigheimer, around 8:25 p.m., Crisostomo grabbed a beer bottle and hit his father in the head. He then grabbed his father by his throat blocking his breathing.

The father suffered bruises to his neck and injured his head. The injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

The victim’s identity was not revealed. This was an ongoing investigation.

Crisostomo was booked into the Umatilla County Jail on Monday afternoon. He is being investigated for second-degree assault, unlawful weapon use, and strangulation. His bond was set at $280,000.

In a similar incident, an Arkansas woman attacked her mother with a TV during an argument over money. On May 18, 51-year-old Julie Carol Pierce lunged a TV at her mother after the latter refused to give her money. The 74-year-old suffered injuries to her left leg. Pierce was charged with second-degree domestic battery, and if convicted, she will face up to 10 years in prison. She remained in custody on zero bond. In this case, the victim is older than 60, and the battery would be classified as a Class C felony. The old woman’s injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

In another incident earlier this month, 25-year-old Joshua Sprouse, from Powhatan, Virginia, was shot and wounded by a deputy after the man threatened to kill his father with a chainsaw. When deputies from the Powhatan Sheriff’s Office responded to their home and confronted Sprouse, he opened fire in multiple directions, including at vehicles passing by the area, before attempting to shoot a deputy. The unnamed deputy, who was involved in the shooting pending an investigation, was placed on routine administrative leave.
