An Oregon resident who threw nails onto the city’s streets was sentenced to 30 days in jail on Tuesday.

Brent Michael Wilson, 57, dubbed as the “Nighttime Nailer” was fined $2500 in restitution after two years of committing crime in the state against whom he considered to be rude drivers.

According to Fox News, Oregon police have received over 60 calls since 2017 about his actions which led them to stake him out and catching him back in October with a tub of brand new roofing nails in his car.

Police considered him to be menace and a constant annoyance as his actions were always sporadic.

Wilson said that he committed the crimes just before sunrise to avoid detection to retaliate against rude motorists whom he considered to have wronged him, prosecutor Bryan Brock said.

Police said that Wilson bought $40 buckets of nails at a home depot outside of the city so the purchase wouldn’t be traced back to him and he went through a bucket a month.

“It was his form of anger management. It made him feel better,” Brock told The Oregonian. “He called it random acts of kindness.”

Although Wilson damaged a lot of tires, no physical injuries were reported.

Wilson pleaded guilty last month to one count of criminal mischief and four counts of disorderly conduct.

The Oregonian reported that after his sentence, he will undergo mental health evaluation and anger management training, as well as avoid alcohol consumption.
