Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly adults as well as others with a weakened immune system. Most individuals suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.
Oskri Corporation is the manufacturer of Inspired Organics’ nut and seed butters . The company is working in partnership with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to identify the cause of the possible contamination.
