‘The Originals’ Season 3 Spoilers: Klaus Set To Reunite With His Angry Progeny Lucien
New season, new drama. That’s what fans of the hit CW series “The Originals” should expect when Season 3 of the supernatural show returns to the small screen this fall.
According to reports, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his Original siblings will come face-to-fang with even more family problems when their blood-sucking children unexpectedly show up to New Orleans. That’s right, audiences are going to get to meet the progenies of Klaus, Elijah (Daniel Gilles) and Rebekah (Claire Holt/Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in the upcoming installment of “The Originals,” which is set to premiere on Thursday, Oct 8.
In July, the Hollywood Reporter revealed the exciting news that “The Pacific” actor Andrew Lees would be taking on the role of Lucien, a NOLA newcomer who apparently has a major bone to pick with the hybrid creature. So, what exactly is Lucien’s beef with Klaus? Well, as it turns out, Lucien is a member of Klaus’ sire line – that first member of Klaus’ sire line to be exact.
“We learned how to make vampires when my sire was created,” Morgan explained during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “There’s definitely a bond there. We owe each other a lot.”
Although Lucien’s arrival might be a joyous event at first, the dark truth behind his arrival will quickly unfold as Season 3 of the series continues. Entertainment Weekly teased that Lucien will have a grudge against Klaus, which stems from being abandoned by his creator – along with the many other vampires Klaus created.
“There’s also this element that it’s not just the three of them but they’re in contact with a lot of the sire line for each of us so it’s like, ‘Hey, remember us? All those vampires that you turned who you’ve now abandoned? Well guess what, we’re not too happy about that and here’s why,’” Morgan explained.
And Klaus’ vampy kids aren’t the only ones angry with the hybrid. Phoebe Tonkin, who portrays Hayley, dished to TVLine in May that “she’s p----d” with Hope's dad.
“Hayley’s not going to be able to forgive him easily for what he’s done,” Tonkin explain how her character feels about Klaus turning her into a wolf. “Even if he did it for the good of his baby, I don’t think he did it in the right way. He should have let Hayley know that’s what he was doing so she could have been part of the plan. But he didn’t do that, so now, [she’s] p----d.”
Join the club, Hayl!
“The Originals” will return with its Season 3 premiere on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
