‘The Originals’ Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 10 Synopsis, Video And Photos
After a short hiatus, “The Originals” returns to the CW. Season 5, Episode 10 will pick up where the vampire drama left off last month — with Klaus leading Hope down a dark path.
“Klaus (Joseph Morgan) helps Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) cope with her pain in an unconventional way,” the synopsis for Wednesday’s episode teases. Unfortunately, “unconventional” means evil.
In episode 9, Hope confronted Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and realized that the Hollow calmed down when she tortured him. Causing others pain as a method to heal herself didn’t disturb Klaus, as it would most other parents. Instead, the father decided he could take his daughter under his wing and teach her some useful methods. That plan seems like it could backfire pretty easily.
As Klaus teaches his daughter his evil ways, Elijah will warn Klaus that this is putting Hope on a dangerous path. In the promo video for Season 5, episode 10 below, Elijah claims that Hope’s humanity could be erased, and it isn’t just the young witch who is in danger. “The consequences could be devastating for everyone,” he says.
However, Elijah will have other things to worry about in this hour, titled “There in the Disappearing Light.” “A figure from Elijah’s past comes back seeking help,” the synopsis teases. Is Antoinette (Jaime Murray) back or is it another familiar face?
Let’s remember that the Hollow isn’t the only threat on “The Originals” Season 5. The nightwalkers are still around, and when we last saw them, they poisoned and killed a group of witches after Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) decided he wouldn’t take a deal with the puritanical group.
The synopsis notes, “Vincent deals with the fallout of a fateful decision” in episode 10. Expect him to still be mourning the death of Ivy (Shiva Kalaiselvan), whom he’d grown close to recently.
While Vincent grieves, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) will deal with the Nazi-like group. “Marcel takes on the nightwalkers,” the logline teases. The group is violent and doesn’t seem to have any boundaries. Another confrontation might end in more death.
“The Originals” executive producer Julie Plec previously warned fans that these final episodes would include plenty of character deaths. The series has always had a high body count, but it seems the departures will be even bigger as the final season comes to an end.
This episode will also mark Daniel Gillies’ second time directing an episode of “The Originals.” His co-stars Joseph Morgan and Charles Michael Davis have helmed episodes in Season 5 as well.
“The Originals” Season 5, episode 10 airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
