An Orlando teenager stole a vehicle with a sleeping child inside on Wednesday night.

According to US News, a woman told Orlando Police that she went inside Gabriel's Submarine Sandwich Shop around 7:30 PM and left her fiance and their daughter, 5, inside the Kia Soul.

Lt. Wanda Miglio said that the father also went inside the restaurant and left the car unlocked, making it possible for the suspect, described by investigators as around 17 years old, to get inside the car and drive off.

The father reportedly apprehended the car from the front but the teen drove around him and sped off.

The 5-year-old was found safely inside the car which was abandoned.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
