‘The Orville’ Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 4 Synopsis, Trailer Released
Ed and his crew will try to be heroes once again in Season 1, episode 4 of “The Orville.”
According to the synopsis for next week’s episode of the Fox series, Ed (Seth MacFarlane) and his crew encounter a massive vessel adrift in space, which is in danger of colliding with a star.
As seen in the trailer for the episode, the vessel has a size of an average planet. Strangely, its external appearance looks dark and bleak, prompting Gordon (Scott Grimes) to comment: “Kids, roll the windows up!”
Ed, Kelly (Adrianne Palicki), Alara (Halston Sage) and Claire (Penny Johnson Jerald) set out of the Orville to help the vessel’s inhabitants. Apparently, during the process, Kelly has been separated from the group and has been taken hostage by a new character named Hamelac (Robert Knepper).
In a promo clip teasing the first few episodes of the series, Kelly is seen tied down to a chair. “Where are your friends?” Hamelac asks Kelly. When she refuses to disclose her teammates’ whereabouts, Hamelac appears to have started hitting her, which explains the bruises on her face.
Despite the physical torment she has suffered, Kelly remains tight-lipped about her group’s location. “You’re more resilient than you look,” Hamelac comments.
“I’ve been through a divorce. This is nothing,” Kelly replies.
Fortunately for the Orville’s first officer, Ed, Alara and Claire soon arrive at Hamelac’s office to rescue her.
Meanwhile, back in the ship, Gordon, Bortus (Peter Macon) and John (J. Lee) try to fend off a Krill attack on another Union ship.
This isn’t the first time, the Orville crew has faced off against Krills. In the series premiere, the crew went head to head with a group of Krills who tried to steal the time-accelerating device invented by Dr. Aronov (Brian George) and his team in Epsilon 2. The Orville crew managed to defeat the Krills in the episode 1, but will they be able to outsmart the Krills once again in episode 4?
“The Orville” Season 1, episode 4, titled “If the Stars Should Appear,” airs on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox. Watch the promo clips below:
