The wives and children of former al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden will be deported from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia next week. Pakistan officials will deport the three women and two children at the end of their jail sentence for illegal residency, lawyers told Reuters on Friday.

They are likely to be deported to Saudi Arabia on April 18, as their sentence ends on April 17, the family's lawyer, Aamir Khalil, told Reuters.

The women were held after bin Laden was killed in a raid by U.S. special forces last May in Pakistan. Bin Laden had been on the run in Pakistan for years after the 9/11 attacks he masterminded.

The women began serving a 45-day prison sentence for staying in the country illegally on March 3, when the court case was first filed. They will pay a fine of 10,000 Pakistani rupees, or about $110, each.

The women's lawyer told CNN the family will take a special Saudi flight next Wednesday.

Once the women are outside of Pakistan, they could tell in detail how bin Laden, who held the No. 1 spot on the FBI's 10 most-wanted list, was apparently able to hide out undetected in Pakistan for years.

Earlier this week, Al Arabiya television showed bin Laden's wives under house arrest in Islamabad. It was a rare glimpse into their lives. The video showed the women with covered faces, some praying as children played.
