Kraft Foods Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:KRFT) has recalled 96,000 pounds of "Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners" because they may contain cheese, Associated Press reported Monday.

Classic Cheese Dogs were apparently placed inside Classic Wieners packages, U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service discovered. The problem was first noticed on Friday after a consumer alerted Kraft. The following day the company notified the USDA, which said the product labels are incorrect therefore the ingredients list is incorrect. Some of the Classic Wieners actually contain pasteurized cheese, which is made from milk, a known allergen, which is not displayed on the label.

The 96,000 hot dogs that were part of the recall were produced on March 2-3, 2014 at a plant in Columbia, Mo.and reportedly contain the establishment number “Est. 537H” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The wieners were dispersed to Kraft supply centers and to retail stores throughout the nation.

The following products are subject to recall:

-16 oz. packages –individual consumer packages– of “Classic Wieners Made with Turkey & Chicken, Pork Added” with “USE BY 16 Jun 2014” date and product code “044700000632”

-Cases of 16 oz. packages –distributed to retailers– of “Classic Cheese Dogs Made with Turkey & Chicken, Pork Added, and Pasteurized Cheese Product” with “USE BY 16 Jun 2014” date and case code “00447000005300”

There have not been any reports of adverse reactions since the products were mistakenly labeled. The health risk associated with the Class I recall was listed as “high.”
