Oscar Winner Witherspoon Struck Down by 84-year-old Driver
Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon, the 35- year-old Academy Award winner, was struck down by a car on Sept. 6 in Santa Monica.
On Tuesday morning while Witherspoon was jogging on Georgina Avenue at 20th Street about 11 a.m., she was struck down by car driven by an 84-year-old lady.
According to the Santa Monica Police, the driver, who was not identified, was driving the car approximately at 20 mph. It's likely that when Witherspoon was running across the street, the old lady failed to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Witherspoon received non-life-threatening injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she received treatement.
After leaving hospital, Witherspoon went back to home. Currently the actress is recuperating at home.
Witherspoon, who married Hollywood agent Jim Toth in March, is one of the top Hollywood actresses. She has won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
