Oscars 2012: How to Watch the 84th Annual Academy Awards?
The 2012 Oscars is almost here as the 84th Annual Academy Awards will kick off live at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) on Sunday, with several ways to watch the action live. The Kodak Theatre hosted the Oscars since 2002, but because of financial problems, Eastman Kodak Co. had to give up it sponsorship of the venue, according to recent reports.
The Huffington Post reported that during the show the location will be referred to as the Hollywood & Highland Center.
At the 2012 Oscars, nine nominees will compete for Best Picture. They are The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight In Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and War Horse.
Demián Bichir, George Clooney, Jean Dujardin, Gary Oldman and Brad Pittare all up for the Actor in a Leading Role. Glenn Close, Viola Davis, Rooney Mara, Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams have all been nominated for Actress in a Leading Role. The Artist, The Descendants, Hugo, Midnight in Paris and The Tree of Life will go head-to-head for directing.

On Television
The 84th Annual Academy Awards show will be broadcast on ABC and hosted by Billy Crystal. It is his first time back in the role since 2004. Viewers can watch the celebrities arrive on the red carpet at 7 p.m. ET. Both TV Guide and E! will be reporting from the red carpet.
Online and apps
Don't have a TV or won't be near one when the 2012 Oscars get underway? Have no fear. If you have an iPad or an iPhone organizers have made it possible for you to download the Oscars app by ABC Digital so that you can have access to the live streams of events that will be on the show's Web site.
The Oscars app does not stream the TV broadcast, but it is good to have while watching the live show because it provides access to live streams from the red carpet, backstage and at the Governors Ball. This feature is only available in the US.
