Oscars 2016: Sofia Vergara Goes Solo, Stuns In Blue On Red Carpet

The red carpet event during the Oscars 2016 was filled with glamorous gowns of all shapes and colors. However, blue was one of the favorite hues for the night. Sofia Vergara was one of the stars who looked resplendent in her dark blue gown during the event, although she arrived without her husband Joe Manganiello.

Every year, fashion lovers and critics would look closely at the gowns that female celebrities would wear during the prestigious event. In previous red carpet affairs, fans will see the “Modern Family” actress mostly decked out in a mermaid-shaped dress. However, Vergara opted to go for a different look during the 88th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles Sunday, according to E! News. This year, she opted for a dark blue Marchesa gown with embellishments on the bodice and waist.

The actress even had her hair pulled back to show off vine-designed diamond earrings that featured a sapphire dangling piece. Vergara told E!’s Ryan Seacrest during the Oscars’ red carpet event that the look was “kind of different” for her. “The oldies, big dress and hair back, but I like it!” she added.

When asked about her absent husband Manganiello, Vergara shared that the actor was not able to join her for the awards ceremony due to work. She explained that Manganiello is busy filming his new television show titled “Six.”

Vergara also gushed about her husband and revealed how he would imitate the actress’ accent when they are both at home. “He does it great! I laugh all the time. When he wants to tell me something very serious, he does it in my accent so I can't be mean,” Vergara stated.

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old actress also shared her and Manganiello’s parenting plans in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia for the magazine’s March issue, Us Weekly reported. Vergara mentioned during the interview that the idea of parenthood is not something that keeps them up at night.

“I cannot just expect anything natural anymore. We’ll see what happens ... But it’s not something I am completely opposed to,” Vergara admitted.

Manganiello and Vergara tied the knot in November 2015. The actress also has a 23-year-old son from a previous marriage.
