‘Outlander’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘Useful Occupations and Deceptions’? [VIDEO]
Changing history doesn’t seem to be a great activity for couples. It looks like Jamie and Claire will be spending more time apart on “Outlander” Season 2. The synopsis for episode 3 of the Starz drama reveals that Claire find ways to keep herself busy while Jamie tries to stop France from funding Prince Charles’ war.
“Jamie’s days and nights are dominated by political machinations, while Claire finds solace in her healing skills,” the synopsis reveals. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) won’t feel very useful until she finds someone that needs a nurse. However, Jamie (Sam Heughan) might need some convincing. Having his pregnant wife around the ill won’t sound like a smart plan, but Balfe explained that there is a little more to it than just safety.
“His frustration – I think under another circumstance he would understand her happiness in finding this place and he would understand her need to go and work there,” the actress told the Hollywood Reporter. “But I think they're both in such tough places within themselves that he's experiencing his own frustration with what he's doing and how that makes him feel. He's not feeling good about himself so he lashes out at her, which Claire swiftly tells him is not okay.”
“As their plan to stop Culloden progresses, including engaging the aid of a young pickpocket, the past threatens to derail their forward momentum,” the synopsis teases. Readers of Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” books know that Fergus (Romann Berrux) will be introduced in episode 3. The kid will prove to be very useful for Jamie and Claire’s mission.
Elsewhere in episode 3, the massive cliffhanger from episode 2 will be discussed. Claire knows that Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) is alive, but Jamie doesn’t yet. Claire will need to share her secret with someone, but will she tell her husband?
“Outlander” Season 2, episode 3 airs Saturday, April 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on Starz.
