‘Outlander’ Season 3 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis, Videos And Photos Released

“Outlander” Season 3 has taken a dramatic turn. Though Jamie and Claire are still adjusting and figuring out their relationship after 20 years apart, the Starz TV show shift will focus a bit after Young Ian’s kidnapping.

“Claire and Jamie leave Scotland, sailing to the West Indies on an urgent quest,” the episode 9 synopsis says.

Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) believe they’ll find Young Ian (John Bell) in the West Indies. The lad was kidnapped when he was stealing treasure for Jamie to pay off his second wife. They need to find him and bring him home safely.

They won’t be alone, though. Fergus (César Domboy) will be on the ship too, and he’ll have a big surprise for Jamie. He and Marsali (Lauren Lyle), Jamie’s stepdaughter, are married. In Entertainment Weekly’s sneak-peek video from Sunday’s “Outlander,” Fergus and Marsali drop the wedding news, and Jamie is unhappy. They haven’t consummated their marriage yet, and he plans to stop that from happening. He demands Marsali sleep in Claire’s room.

Worrying about his stepdaughter’s virtue won’t be Jamie’s top priority for long. “But when the superstitious crew looks for someone to blame after a string of bad luck, rescue comes from an unlikely source,” the logline teases.

In the promo video for “Outlander” Season 3, episode 9, which is titled “Doldrums,” British sailors board their ship and demand help. They ask for a surgeon, and that means Claire must go where she’s needed. “You can’t set foot on a ship with the plague,” Jamie warns.

But as Claire has proven before, she can’t stop herself from helping someone in need. Watch the trailer below:

This trip will have plenty of risks for Jamie and Claire. As the midseason trailer showed, the two will find lots of trouble on the high seas and in Jamaica. Let’s just hope they also find Young Ian.
