2011 was a big year for generalized media saturation, and a handful of celebrities took more than their share of the spotlight. The cycle of overhyped celebrities went something like this: Celebrity X gets a boatload attention for one reason or another; Celebrity X's face and name is suddenly everywhere you turn around; Everyone starts talking about how sick they are of seeing/hearing about Celebrity X, thereby prolonging the cycle. Rinse and repeat.
