'Overwatch' Servers Down, Failing To Connect? Players Experiencing Crashes, Blizzard Investigating

Blizzard Entertainment’s massive first-person shooter “Overwatch” is having a rough day at the office. The developer’s customer service Twitter feed reported Tuesday that the game’s servers are down and not working for some users, leading to rampant latency or disconnections for players.
Some #Overwatch players may be experiencing latency or disconnections. We are investigating this now.

There is not a great deal of concrete information as to why this is happening or when it will be fixed. “Overwatch” fans are complaining on Twitter about being booted out of games in the Competitive Play mode, resulting in them losing skill rating points.

Update: 2:20 p.m. EDT - Blizzard customer service tweeted the following message, confirming the server issues should be resolved:
