'Ozark' Season 4 Theory: Darlene's Insanity Explained With New Villain

Ruth (Julia Garner) referred to Darlene as being “bats--t crazy,” and she isn’t wrong. The character has a dark past that started with her youth, which molded her into a formidable villain. According to a theory by Screen Rant, the fans will get to learn more about the character and why she turned out the way she did when they will meet her mother.

In a way, the Season 3 finale teased the arrival of Darlene’s mother during a conversation between Ruth and Wyatt (Charlie Tahan). That conversation seemed like a comedic scene at that time, but it may have been a way for the writers to foreshadow the things to come in “Ozark” Season 4.

The TV series needs new villains, and Darlene’s mother may be exactly the kind of character that can fill this role.
