- Pain during ejaculation is a symptom of prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is normally experienced by men who are already in their 70’s, particularly those who are 75 and above. Patients experience a host of symptoms when they have this type of cancer. One of the painful symptoms can occur during sex.
Prostate cancer happens when a tumor is formed in the prostate gland because of cells multiplying uncontrollably. The prostate is just a small gland that is found at the base of the bladder. This is the gland surrounding the part that carries both semen and urine out of the body.
According to Cancer Research UK, many of the prostate cancer would begin in the outer cell glands of the prostate. Then, they would grow slowly and would not normally spread to the other body parts. However, when cancer would start to spread to other tissues, it could start affecting the body functions.
Pain During Sex
As per Cleveland Clinic, one of the telltale signs of prostate cancer is when you experience pain during ejaculation. As the semen rushes out, pain can be felt. It must be noted though, that cancer needs to be big enough so as for it to press against the urethra and cause pain.
More Notable Symptoms
Aside from pain during sex or during ejaculation, there are other signs of prostate cancer that you need to watch out for. When you pass urine more often than usual, when you would often get up at night just to empty your bladder, or when you experience difficulty when urinating, you must take note of these as these are all symptoms of prostate cancer. When you start noticing these things, it would be best for you to consult your doctor right away.
Keeping Cancer at Bay
In order for you to be able to help yourself in lowering your risk of developing prostate cancer, you must aim to keep your weight and body mass index within normal levels. Being overweight increases your chance of developing the disease. Also, try to eat a healthy diet and to stay active.
When you make these simple lifestyle changes, you will be able to lower your risk of prostate cancer. Doing so can give you a better chance of living a good life when you’re already in your 70’s.
