Pamela Anderson is setting the record straight when it comes to her romance with Jon Peters amid rumors of her new relationship.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, a statement on Anderson's Twitter revealed that she wasn’t legally married to Peters while responding to a People article, which mentions that they got divorced just 12 days after tying the knot.
“Pamela Anderson was never legally married to Jon Peters (life long family friend) no hard feelings - no Marraige [sic], no Divorce... just a bizarre theatrical lunch - Pamela has a good sense of humor about it,” the post read.
Her spokeswoman said the same in a statement to E! News. The rep explained that the supposed marriage was only a lunch as Anderson and Peters “both decided it was a bad idea after all and never signed any papers. It was just a family brunch gone wild—nothing was never [sic] legalized.”
Anderson exchanged vows with the producer in January, with the “Baywatch” star’s rep confirming that the nuptials were held in Malibu, California. “They love each other very much,” the rep said to E! News.
At the time, Peters opened up about his romance with Anderson, revealing that he has loved her for a long time.
“There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but—for 35 years—I've only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild—in a good way,” Peters told The Hollywood Reporter.
“She has yet to shine in a real way. There is much more to her than meets the eye, or I wouldn't love her so much,” he said.
However, news later broke that they called it quits less than two weeks after their reported marriage. Peters claimed that Anderson broke up with him after he paid her debts, but the model denied this, Page Six reported.
“Life is a journey and love is a process. With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process,” Anderson wrote at the time.
Anderson maintained that the split was because Peters tried to take control of her career, which Peters said was not true. The “A Star Is Born” producer called off his engagement to get married to the starlet, but after their relationship ended, he got back together with his ex-fiancée.
As for Anderson, she has been dating her security guard, Dan Hayhurst, for a while now.
“She's very happy,” a source told People. “And they've been together for the entire pandemic. She's super happy and he's been helping her fix up her home on Vancouver Island.”
