Paris Hilton has expressed concern about unrealistic beauty standards that are making rounds on social media and how they are affecting children.

"I think in some ways it can be very toxic," the 41-year-old actress and TV personality said in a recent episode of "The Sunday Project." "I can't imagine being 12, 13-years-old and seeing these beauty standards that are not real, and using the filters all the time."

Hilton went on to share that these beauty standards are not good for teenagers' minds. "It's just… I don't know. I think it's just not really good for someone's mind at that age," she explained.

It wasn't the first time Hilton, who is often called the "original influencer," spoke about the negative effects of social media on young people, particularly girls. During a guesting on the YouTube series "Hot Ones" last year, she said, "The thing that bothers me is just, I can't even imagine being like a 13-year-old girl and having these pressures of having to be perfect and care about likes and people trolling you and being mean."

Besides discussing beauty standards and social media, Hilton also talked about her reality show, "The Simple Life," during her "The Sunday Project" interview. In fact, she was asked if the said program has affected her image and if people underestimate her because of it. "If they don't know me, definitely," she said in response. "I played that character from 'The Simple Life' for so long in the public eye… I always love being underestimated."

"I love proving people wrong. I'm not a dumb blonde, I'm just very good at pretending to be one," she added.

Hilton worked on "The Simple Life" from 2003 to 2007. Apart from this, she also appeared in several movies and series. She will be next seen in the short film "Sorry or What Could Have Been," which is helmed by director Ramez Silyan. The "Paris In Love" star will also be seen in the action movie "China Game," which is under pre-production. Directed by Jaycee Chan, the film's screenplay is by Nancy Doyne. Its cast members also include Chinese stars Sammo Kam-Bo Hung and Zuyang Sun.

On the personal front, Hilton tied the knot with author Carter Reum in December 2021. The couple got engaged in February of the same year. The "Cooking with Paris" star shared their engagement photos on Instagram with the caption that read, "When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it."
