Patrice O'Neal Suffers Stroke; Condition Still Uncertain
Standup comedian Patrice O'Neal suffered a stroke last week and his condition is still uncertain.
We wanted it to come from us, said Jim Norton, a close friend and fellow comedian on talk radio's Opie & Anthony Show. We don't know how he is. We don't know how he's going to be. I didn't want to do this by myself. I wish we had more news for you.
The 41-year-old star's family has asked for privacy at this difficult time and has set up an email loveforpatrice@gmail.com, to receive wishes from fans.
The Facebook page of the Opie & Anthony Show, posted a statement which reads: Our close friend Patrice O'Neal suffered a stroke last week. Please respect his family and their request for privacy. An email has been set up for fans to send him well wishes and his family will make sure he gets them. You can write to LoveForPatrice@gmail.com. When we have an update on his condition, we will let you all know.
O'Neal, who recently performed at the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, began his career in Boston and currently lives in New Jersey.
