Is Patrick Mahomes Married? Kansas City Chiefs QB Has A Baby Coming

Whether the Kansas City Chiefs win or lose the Super Bowl, the first big thing Patrick Mahomes is doing after the game is becoming a daddy. The quarterback is expecting a baby girl with his fiancée.

That’s right, Mahomes is off the market and he has been for quite some time. He has been dating certified personal trainer Brittany Matthews since they were teenagers. The 25-year-olds were high school sweethearts, even going to prom together in 2013 at Whitehouse High School in Texas.

They went to different colleges, with Matthews heading off to the University of Texas at Tyler and Mahomes at Texas Tech. The distance, however, did not put a damper on the romance. The two stayed together as Matthews graduated while Mahomes joined the NFL in 2017 instead of finishing his senior year. He was immediately drafted to the Chiefs.

Matthews was cheering on Mahomes as he won his first Super Bowl championship last year against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The quarterback finally got his championship ring on Sept. 1, 2020, and the romantic decided his girlfriend needed a diamond ring too. He proposed the same day he received his Super Bowl ring.

“Brittany’s stunning and trendy engagement ring from Patrick appears to feature an estimated 8- to 10-carat emerald-cut diamond, set on a white gold or platinum diamond-adorned double band,” Brilliant Earth‘s SVP of merchandising and retail expansion, Kathryn Money, told Page Six.

On Sept. 29, 2020, the two announced they were “taking a detour to the wedding.” They posted a sonogram photo on social media to reveal that Matthews is pregnant, and they revealed the baby is a girl shortly after that.

While a due date was not revealed, the mother-to-be hasn’t been shy about showing off her bump. Assuming the couple waited to announce until the end of her first 12 weeks, she’s likely into her third trimester by February.

Matthews is most known for being the woman behind one of the top men in football, but she has her own career as well. The former soccer player has personal training tutorials and workout apparel available at Brittany Lynne Fitness. She’s an owner of Kansas City’s new National Women's Soccer League. She and Mahomes both represent BioSteel sports drinks as well.
