Patti Stanger Talks Kenya Moore And Her Ex-Boyfriend James Freeman: He Was Single On ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’

Some people are scratching their heads after it was revealed James Freeman, the former boyfriend of reality TV star Kenya Moore, is actually a married man. The couple met on the hit Bravo show “Millionaire Matchmaker,” but host Patti Stanger maintains that Freeman was single when they shot the show back in November.

Stanger was criticized by some for setting the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star up with a married man, but the “Millionaire Matchmaker” star defended herself during an interview with Extra. "They basically dated. They broke up," she continued. "He did not date his old girlfriend and marry her…. He met a new girl in January and he ended up marrying her. It was very fast."

After Us Weekly wrote Stanger, 53, defended Freeman, the sassy host fired off some tweets to clear up the apparent misconception. “I love you @usweekly but I never defended james! I'm sure he played both sides of the st. as men often do! @KenyaMoore long distance sucks!” she wrote. “Was james single at the time of shooting? Yes he was! Did @KenyaMoore n james date yes! But only they know for how long and what happened!”

Moore took to Instagram Tuesday after she discovered Freeman was a married man. “I am astounded and devastated to have learned of this news via social media as opposed to from him directly,” she wrote in a statement. “However, I still believe in love and my heart remains open to the man God has for me. I wish him well.”

The “RHOA” star followed up her post with a quote from Maya Angelou: “Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I’ll rise.”
