  • Jenkins said she wanted to maintain the surprise element
  • "Wonder Woman 1984" premieres on HBO Max and theaters on Dec. 25

Patty Jenkins has revealed that “Wonder Woman 1984” indeed has a post-credits scene. However, the director deliberately left the scene out when the movie was shown to the media.

Speaking in an interview with Cinema Blend, the 49-year-old filmmaker discussed the second “Wonder Woman” movie, confirming that the Gal-Gadot-starrer will feature a post-credit scene.

Though Jenkins did not provide details about this scene. she revealed that she made the decision not to show it to the press because of the surprise element.

“Let that be something to save for the audience. Just because, God forbid, somebody writes about it, you’re like, ‘Well, then what fun was it? Now we should have just attached it to the end of the movie!” Jenkins told the outlet.

The “Monster’s Ball” helmer also revealed that the post-credits scene will be available on both the theatrical release and the HBO Max streaming version.

During the same interview, Jenkins also explained why she did not like Joss Whedon’s version of “Justice League,” saying that all the directors present in the DC Extended Universe “tossed” the movie out as much as fans did.

“I think that the ‘Justice League’ was kind of an outlier. They were trying to turn one thing into, kind of, another. And so then it becomes, ‘I don’t recognize half of these characters. I’m not sure what’s going on,’” she said.

“Wonder Woman 1984” will be Warner Bros.’ first-ever movie to release simultaneously on the big screen and HBO Max. The movie focuses on Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and how she squares off against Maxwell Lord and the Cheetah, a villain with superhuman strength and agility.

Early social media reactions from critics have widely praised Jenkin’s storytelling and script. They also praised all the actors for their impeccable performances.

The movie stars Gadot as the titular character and includes Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal in pivotal roles.

“Wonder Woman 1984” arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on Dec. 25.
