'Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels' Episode 4 Preview: Lewis Talks To Gangster

Lewis (Nathan Lane) will get desperate in “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” Season 1, episode 4. A preview video has been released online and it shows the veteran police officer considering asking a gangster’s help to control the growing Nazi problem in the city.

A preview video of the next episode shows Lewis visiting a cemetery with Dottie Minter (Lin Shaye). Later in the video he tells her that he is going to meet a gangster. Minter is surprised by the move and she reminds him the risks of seeking the help of a gangster, but he may have little choice.

According to the plot synopsis, Lewis will need the help of a gangster to take on the growing Nazi menace in Los Angeles. Some of the other storylines in the episode include Tiago (Daniel Zovatto) looking for clues at Sister Molly’s (Kerry Bishé) beach house, Peter Craft (Rory Kinnear) inviting Elsa (Natalie Dormer) to a party at his house, and Josefina Vega having a harrowing encounter with the police.

The Nazis are growing as a threat because Magda is manipulating them from behind-the-scenes. But, that is not the only group to watch in “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” episode 4. According to CBR, Magda’s new persona Rio could cause a lot of damage as she manipulates Tiago’s brother Mateo (Jonathan Nieves).

Mateo believes in social justice and Rio has started to use that to turn him into a warrior to spread anarchy in the city. After facing poverty and some problems in the family, Mateo finally has a place where he thinks he belongs and he has started to develop a taste for violence.

According to Screen Rant, the TV series is also exploring some of the city’s Latino culture. Tiago’s mother is seen as worshipping Santa Muerte (Lorenza Izzo), who is actually Magda’s sister who doesn’t like to get directly involved in the lives of the people in the city.

“Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels” Season 1, episode 4 is titled Josefina and the Holy Spirit. It will air on May 17 at 10 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
