People’s Choice Awards 2015: Chris Evans Says His Mom Made Up 40% Of Votes In Favorite Action Movie Actor Win

Chris Evans is an action star and funny. The “Captain America” heartthrob took home the 2015 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Action Movie Actor, beating out Denzel Washington, Hugh Jackman, Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg. The 33-year-old hit the stage to thank all who made the win possible -- like his mom.

“Thank you, thank you,” he said, astonished by the win. “I don’t win stuff so this is kind of cool. Thank you to the people who voted. Thank you to the people who love movies, who see movies, who are passionate about movies. Without you guys I’m lost, so thank you for giving me a purpose.”

Evans added that he knew how he managed to sweep the Favorite Action Movie Actor category -- 40 percent of the votes came from his mom. “But the other 60 percent, it really means a lot to me” Chris Evans continued. “I’m eternally grateful.”

Chris Evans is also nominated for Favorite Movie Duo with his “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” co-star Scarlett Johansson.
