Pet Owner Gets Stabbed While Trying To Save His $3,200 Puppy From Dog-Snatcher
A dog owner was stabbed by an attacker as he tried to save his $3,200 French bulldog puppy from being snatched away. The event took place in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
The victim, 20-year-old Aaron Aston, was stabbed with a pocket knife, according to local police reports. A self-employed gardener by profession, Aston had got the puppy as a gift for his girlfriend. Aston had taken the dog for a walk alone as his girlfriend was at work when the attack happened.
“I was out walking the dog by myself. I had decided to take him on a long walk while my girlfriend was at work.” Aston said, adding, “It was 6 or 7 p.m. (11 p.m. or 12 a.m. EST) in the evening. It was dark. It happened a month ago on a Tuesday evening."
Revealing the horrific turn of events that led to the stabbing, Aston said, “I was walking through a ginnel and someone asked me ‘Is that a French Bull Dog?’ and asked how old he is.” He added, “I told him and he said ‘Great. That’s nice – now give me your f---ing dog’.”
Aston said, “I carried on walking and he crept up behind me and punched me in the face. I hit him back and thought he had punched me in the ribs – but he had stabbed me.” Aston then went to his friend’s room where he realized that he was stabbed.
He said, “It was bleeding quite badly. I had to hold the wound together. I had to get a taxi to hospital and get stitches.”
Shook by the incident, Aston said he had been suffering from anxiety since the event took place. He added that he locks himself inside his house every evening and won’t even answer his phone. He said, “I feel like I am in jail.”
Aston revealed that the attacker was dressed in all black clothes and had his face covered. He said the attacker looked to be about 5ft, 10in or 11in tall and had a stocky build. Aston added, “The man who attacked me sounded in his mid-twenties.”
It was not known if the attacker was arrested.
