Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Share Romantic Photos, Sweet Message Before New Year’s Eve

There is no denying that “Dancing With the Stars” pros Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had a great 2015, but the two lovebirds are ready for whatever 2016 has in store for them. On New Year’s Eve the recently engaged couple took to their Instagram accounts to share a romantic photo and sweet message for their fans.

“I’m not sure how 2016 can top this incredible year,” Murgatroyd captioned a photo of her and Chmerkovskiy. “But it’s an amazing feeling knowing the best is yet to come baby.”

In the picture, Chmerkovskiy is dipping his fiancée low and kissing her in the water on the beach in St. Maarten. However, Chmerkovskiy took to his own Instagram page to tell the real story behind the shot.

“Last post of ’15 and this one makes sense,” he captioned a series of images of them falling in the water. “@PetaMurgatroyd and I in a nut shell: Trying to be serious and dying laughing instead. I am truly blessed because she saw in me something that made her make me her choice and I am so much better now that she’s ‘permanently around’ and all I ask for is a lifetime to prove to her I’m worth it. Baby, I love you. Lets stay ‘us’ for the rest of our lives. #happynewyear.”

Murgatroyd, 29, and Chmerkovskiy, 35, got engaged in early December after dating on and off since 2012. Chmerkovskiy got down on one knee during a performance of “Sway: A Dance Trilogy” at the Olympia Theater in Miami.

“I’m in love with you, and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life,” he told his belle. “And if you’ll have me, I want you to be part of mine.”

The pair are currently having fun planning their wedding, but have yet to announce a date for their nuptials.
