Phaedra Parks Talks Apollo Nida: Has She Filed For Divorce?
Phaedra Parks is opening up for the first time since her husband, Apollo Nida, was sentenced to eight years in prison. On Tuesday, the “Real Husbands of Atlanta” cast member was sentenced in Atlanta, after pleading guilty in May to stealing people’s identities to apply for loans and create more than 40 fraudulent bank accounts.
An investigation into the operation began in February 2012, and he was subsequently charged by federal authorities with bank fraud and identity theft. In May, while in court, Nida said he takes "full responsibility for my actions" and admitted, "it was a dumb situation I put myself in."
Parks spoke with Andy Cohen on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens: Live,” to discuss her relationship with her husband. While she did not specifically address his case, Parks did note that Nida will be filing an appeal. When asked if they were filing for divorce, she replied, “No, I have not filed for divorce. I am still very married--check out the ring. So no, I have not filed for divorce.”
Cohen proceeded to ask if this has been a tough time for the couple. “It is,” Parks said, “but we are where we are, and you know, we’ll support him. We are family. He’s the father of my two beautiful kids, and you know at the end of the day I am a southern belle and I believe in family and I will support him until this is resolved.”
This isn't Nida’s first time landing in prison. He served time from 2004 to 2009 for auto title fraud.
