Phil Jackson had an unusual response to how he plans to get the Lakers back into the series with the Dallas Mavericks.

I plan on flogging them tomorrow, he said, after Game Two.

In case you don't know what flogging means, here's how Merriam-Webster defines flog: to beat with or as if with a rod or whip, and to criticize harshly. Also, the words means, to force or urge into action.

So the Lakers are in for that kind of treatment from Jackson, even though there's a smirk that goes along with basically anything the famed head coach says. The press corp certainly got a laugh out of it.

The Lakers are down 0-2 to the Mavericks after a pair of home games in Los Angeles in the best-of-seven series.

Game Three will be in Dallas on Friday at 9:30 pm eastern time.
