The NFC East is a two-team race in Week 11 of the 2019 NFL season. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are tied atop the division. The team that ends up in second place is unlikely to earn a wild-card berth.

Dallas has the edge with seven games left on the schedule. Both teams have a 5-4 record, but the Cowboys own the tiebreaker with a win over the Eagles in Week 7. Dallas also has a perfect 4-0 record in the division, while Philadelphia sits at 1-1 in the NFC East.

There’s a good chance the Cowboys will take a one-game lead in the NFC East Sunday. Dallas is road favorite against the Detroit Lions, who will likely start backup quarterback Jeff Driskel over the injured Matthew Stafford. Philadelphia is a home underdog against the defending champion New England Patriots.

But the Cowboys are not favored to be in first place when the regular season concludes.

Philadelphia is a -140 favorite to win the NFC East at FanDuel Sportsbook. Dallas has +105 division odds.

The New York Giants (+22000) and Washington Redskins (+25000) are given virtually no chance to make a miraculous comeback. The Giants are 2-8 and the Redskins have the NFC’s worst record at 1-8.

The Eagles have -152 odds to make the playoffs as a division winner or a wild-card team. The Cowboys have -120 odds to miss the postseason.

The No.6 seed Minnesota Vikings are two games ahead of the Cowboys and Eagles in the standings, but the NFC’s second wild-card team virtually has a 2.5-game lead because they defeated both Dallas and Philadelphia head-to-head. The Seattle Seahawks are the No.5 seed in Week 11 with three more victories than the Cowboys and Eagles.

The Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers are also wild-card contenders at 5-4.

Dallas faces a more difficult schedule in the second half of the season. The Cowboys have four road games left compared to three for the Eagles. Philadelphia will visit Washington, New York and the Miami Dolphins, all of whom have bottom-five NFL records.

Philadelphia’s toughest matchups will come in their next two games when they host the Eagles and Seahawks in consecutive weeks. The Eagles still have to play the Giants twice.

After visiting Detroit, Dallas will visit New England, where the Patriots haven’t lost in over two years. The Cowboys will host the Buffalo Bills and Rams, both of whom have winning records. A road game against the Chicago Bears is sandwiched in between those two contests.

Week 16 might ultimately decide the NFC East. That’s when the Cowboys visit the Eagles.

The Cowboys won the NFC East last season, winning their third division title in five years. Philadelphia made the playoffs as a wild-card team after winning the NFC East in the 2017 season.

The 2004 Eagles were the last team to win consecutive NFC East titles.
