Philosophy of Oslo Killer: Excerpts from Anders Breivik?s Manifesto

If Anders Breivik were not a mass killer he would have been an academic of quite some substance -- it is with commanding flair that he goes from one philosopher to another in his raving 1500-page thesis against multiculturalism in Europe, the idea of political correctness and the perceived Islamization of Europe.

His thesis contains some of the most potent and abrasive tirades against multiculturalism to this date. Drawing on his conviction that an Islamic colonization of Europe is taking place, Breivik says the telling absence of a cultural identity representing Western Europe as a whole has left 'Islam as the only vibrant ideology available to those in search of meaning.'

He says the European Union promotes crime and instability in the region, rather than protecting peace. He even says "the EU is systematically surrendering the continent to our worst enemies."

"Appeasement of Islam and Muslims is so deeply immersed into the structural DNA of the EU that the only way to stop the Islamisation of the continent is to get rid of the EU. All of it."

He denounces secularism, materialism of all hues and calls for the return to the religion of old.

He feared that in Muslims will form the majority of the population in many European countries by 2070. According to some study he quotes in his thesis, Muslims will be more than 50 percent in Germany, Belgium and Netherlands. They will form 70 percent of the population in France and 72 percent in Russia. In Norway, UK, and Luxemburg the Muslim population by 2070 will be 38 percent. They will be more than 40 percent in Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland.

His thesis says the number of Muslims in Western Europe was 50,000 in 1955, which grew to 30 million in 2009. He says the number will hit 140 million by 2090.

And Breivik, who used the Oslo blast and the Utoya mass killing as a marketing launch pad for his ultra-fundamentalist ideology, says a violent reaction to the Islamization of Western Europe will take place in future. He says people are enjoying so much prosperity nowadays that they don’t care for any meaningful resistance. This will change in future, though: "Today (phase 1) people refrain from reacting since they live in economic prosperity, and to stand up for their ideas would send them into suffering. However, in a few decades we will have an economic downfall that will make the current recession look like a picnic. And at that point standing up for their ideas will come at no extra cost, since the suffering is already prevalent."

The following are some other excerpts from his 1,500-page thesis, which he published online hours before the massacre. While most part of the thesis has been written by him, there are also some articles written by people he says are like-minded thinkers. He says he spent 9 years of working on this project and personally spent a total of 317000 Euros.

He says he has tried to recount "the history of the last 1400 year Islamic Jihad against non-Muslims and Europe," and that most historical details of the Islamic atrocities have been "removed or falsified by our academia by instruction of Western Europe’s cultural relativist elites (cultural relativism=cultural Marxism).

Of all the reasons he ascribes to the proliferation of Muslims in Western Europe and the increasing influence of Islam in the region, he says the notion of multiculturalism is the main villain.

"Multiculturalism (cultural Marxism/political correctness), as you might know, is the root cause of the ongoing Islamisation of Europe which has resulted in the ongoing Islamic colonisation of Europe through demographic warfare (facilitated by our own leaders).”

"The essence of multiculturalism is that all cultures and religions are “equal”. In this context our Western governments launched a great “campaign of deception” against their

own people with the goal of creating a falsified version of the Islamic and European Civilisation, in order to make them equal."
Breivik says the true nationalist forces in Western European countries should rise to the occasion and act in self-defense immediately. ""Time is of the essence. We have only a few decades to consolidate a sufficient level of resistance before our major cities are completely demographically overwhelmed by Muslims."

"Over the last fifty years, Western Europe has been conquered by the same force that earlier took over Russia, China, Germany and Italy."
Another notion he shreds to pieces is 'Political Correctness'. He says this concept "looms over Western European society like a colossus. It has taken over both political wings, left and right. Among so called Western European ”conservative” parties the actual cultural conservatives are shown the door because being a cultural conservative opposes the very essence of political correctness."

"It controls the most powerful element in our culture, the media and entertainment industry. It dominates both public and higher education: many a college campus is a small, ivycovered North Korea. It has even captured the higher clergy in many Christian churches."

Breivik displays strong grasp of major European philosophical thinking in modern times and refers to the works of philosophers like Antonio Gramsci, Georg Lukacs, Betty Friedan and Abraham Maslow.

He says a feminization of culture has been taking place in Europe. "Today, the feminisation of European culture, moving rapidly since the 1960s continues to intensify. Indeed, the present-day radical feminist assault through support for mass Muslim immigration has a political parallel to the their anti-colonial efforts. This current assault is in part a continuation of a century-old effort to destroy traditional European structures, the very foundation of European culture."

"The fate of European civilisation depends on European men steadfastly resisting Politically Correct feminism," he says.

In another section of the thesis he says that since the creation of Islam in the 7th century, "the Islamic Jihad has systematically killed more than 300 million non Muslims and tortured and enslaved more than 500 million individuals."

He says in modern times, the 'anti-Christian jihad culminated in 1922 at Smyrna, on the Mediterranean coast, where 150,000 Greek Christians were massacred by the Turkish army under the indifferent eye of Allied warships. And he says the jihadi forces are now gaining more support from Islamic nation states that have become rich in the post World War 2 era.

"With the collapse of Soviet hegemony over much of the Muslim world, coupled with the burgeoning wealth of the Muslim oil-producing countries, the Muslim world increasingly possesses the freedom and means to support jihad around the globe."

He also lambastes the European Union for propagating multiculturalism. "The EU does not protect the peace in Europe. On the contrary, it undermines stability in the continent by dismantling border controls at a time of the greatest population movements in human history, with many migrants coming from politically unstable countries whose instability spills over to European states. Through its senseless immigration policies, the EU could become partly responsible for triggering civil wars in several European countries. Maybe it will be remembered as the “peace project” which brought war.

"We are in the very beginning of a very bloody cultural war, a war between nationalism and internationalism and we intend to win it," says '2080, A European Declaration of Independence'. "Islam WILL be thrown out of Europe for a third time and the Marxist, humanist and globalist traitors who colluded with the Ummah will be held accountable for their treason.'
