Pierre Cardin Launches Designer Android Tablet
As the world goes gaga over svelte tablet beauties like iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, reputed designer houses are also joining the tablet race to offer designer tablets.
Luxury goods maker Pierre Cardin took a plunge into the tablet landscape with a 7-inch Android tablet under the moniker PC-7006.
The tablet from the designer house offers 800x480 screen resolution and is powered by Samsung S5PV210 Cortex-A8 1.0 GHz. It has 512B RAM and comes in 4GB internal configuration. The tablet sports a 1.3MP front-facing camera and can play 720p videos. However PC-7006 uses the older Android version Froyo or Android 2.2.The tablet weighs 1.14 pounds and 0.55-inch thick.
The tablet has been released in UK and is priced $450. The tablet comes with 7" Pierre Cardin Protective Case, Earphones, USB Cable, OTG Cable and AC Power Adaptor - all packed in an uber-cool black gift box.
However Pierre Cardin is not the only designer in the fray as most recently luxury watch maker Tag Heuer also released an Android phone called Link Smart Phone. The phone flaunts a price tag of $6,600. The phone is made of 316L Stainless steel, Gold, Diamonds, Black PVD, Titanium, Rubber, Calfskin leather, Carbon leather, Alligator and Lizard.
