Singer Pink appeared on Thursday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and recalled how the host handed her an Emmy and has always been "supportive" of her career. She also shared how DeGeneres inspired her as a person.

"I wanted to be a singer because I wanted to grow up and change the world and make it a better place," Pink told DeGeneres. "You’ve done that in so many ways. Whereas maybe I help people find their pain, you help people find their joy."

The 42-year-old singer further shared how badly people need to find joy in this world, adding that DeGeneres is "as kind as" she seems and she "support" people. "When you shine your light on them it’s like staring into the sun," she added.

Pink also shared that the host always has been supportive of her career and recalled she was handed Emmy by DeGeneres.

"You’ve basically had an indelible mark on this world and made it okay for people to be who they are," she added. "You remind people that there’s a lot going on in the world, but that joy is always a choice.

Pink got emotional when the host showed old footage of the singer's appearance on the first season of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in 2003.

Pink also handed over some gifts to the host and joked, "I brought you gifts, because you’ve never let me give you gifts. You can’t not invite me back."

The gift basket included bird-watching goggles, a jar of sourdough starter, and some knitting material. Pink noted that DeGeneres "would have a lot of free time" following the final season of the show.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has come to an end as the last episode of season 19 was aired Thursday.

DeGeneres had been sharing old footage in almost every new episode of the final season. Earlier this week, the host footage of test interviews that she recorded on Sept. 13, 2002.

The test footage was recorded at her home 20 years ago featuring Tom Hanks, Helen Hunt and Alanis Morissette to give an idea to the network executives how the show will turn out if given a green signal.
