'Pirates Of The Caribbean': Video Shows Johnny Depp Mingling With Fans In Australia
A new video shows actor Johnny Depp meeting with fans who showed up at a set of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” Meanwhile, Disney has shared 11 things to remember about the day Depp’s character Jack Sparrow was almost caught by British soldiers in the first movie.
Depp reportedly spent three hours at Hastings Point in Australia, greeting about 800 fans. This video, posted on YouTube by bigfootkam, shows the actor being escorted by his security team as he went around and met the fans who had waited to see him.
The actor took his time chatting with the fans and posing for selfies with them. Some of the fans also managed to get a hug from Depp. Many of the children who had come to see him also appeared to be excited when he took photos with them.
Depp is expected to continue filming “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” in which he will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. The actor first played the role in the 2003 movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” Recalling the escape of the infamous pirate in that movie, Disney has posted on its official blog 11 things to remember about the way Jack eluded capture. [Spoiler alert!]
The report notes that it was very hot on the day of Jack’s escape. The scene featured Norrington (Jack Davenport) proposing to Elizabeth (Keira Knightley). Elizabeth falling into the ocean sent a pulse across the water and later Jack saves her, but he is confronted by Norrington for being a pirate.
Jack manages to escape capture by taking Elizabeth hostage and later using his acrobatic skills. Fans will get to see Jack's humor and elusivenes again in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dean Men Tell No Tales,” when it arrives in U.S. theaters July 7, 2017.
