Pitbull took to social media on his birthday to express his gratitude to everyone who has helped him become who he is today.
In an Instagram post, the rapper — who turned 36 on Sunday, Jan. 15 — thanked his followers for their birthday greetings and gave a special shoutout to his family and fans, to whom he owes his career. His special message comes with a photo of him standing next to his three-layered birthday cake.
The cake seen in the picture was actually the cake presented by Nickelodeon representatives to the “Timber” hitmaker during the grand opening of the network’s brand-new Burbank facility on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pitbull headlined the festivities and entertained attendees with performances of his songs “Give Me Everything,” “Fireball,” “Don't Stop the Party” and “Feel This Moment.” He was joined by Austine Mahone and Nick Cannon, who handled DJ duties alongside J Boogie and DJ Colgate from Nick Radio.
“It’s an honor to partner with Nickelodeon and celebrate the opening of its Burbank studios,” Pitbull told The Hollywood Reporter at the event. “Thank you for the birthday cake and being part of such a special night. Dale!”
A couple of weeks prior to his appearance at the Nickelodeon event, Pitbull also headlined Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution at Bayfront Park on Dec. 31, 2016 in Miami. Pitbull’s latest album, “Dale,” was released in July 2015. His next album, titled “Climate Change,” is scheduled to be released sometime this year via Mr. 305 and RCA Records.
