‘Pitch Perfect 3’ Star Anna Kendrick To Star In Disney’s Female Santa Claus Movie?
Anna Kendrick’s film, “Pitch Perfect 3,” has not even hit theaters yet, but the actress is reportedly already in talks to star in Disney’s upcoming Santa Claus movie.
According to Variety, the yet-to-be-titled movie could see Kendrick playing the role of Santa Claus’ daughter who is forced to take over her family’s business when her dad suddenly decides to retire. Even though she has a brother, he couldn’t assume the role of business head after he got cold feet prior to his first major Christmas Eve flight.
“Miss Congeniality” scriptwriter Marc Lawrence will pen the script and direct the upcoming movie, whose unofficial title is “Nicole.” Susanne Todd and Louie Provost are overseeing for Disney.
Kendrick gained popularity after she starred in the first “Pitch Perfect” film in October 2012. In the movie, she played the role of a talented college student named Beca Mitchell. One of Kendrick’s most iconic scenes in the film was when she performed the “Cup Song.” Due to the franchise’s success, “Pitch Perfect” was followed by “Pitch Perfect 2.” The film was released in May 2015. “Pitch Perfect 3” will be released in theaters in the United States sometime in December.
Kendrick’s other film credits include “The Accountant,” “Into the Woods,” “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” and “The Hollars.” She also lent her voice for the animated movie, “Trolls.” Last November, she also released her collection of essays, “Scrappy Little Nobody.”
Even with her busy schedule, Kendrick still makes it a point to spend time with her boyfriend, Ben Richardson. The couple has been dating since 2014. Richardson is a well-known British cinematographer who is currently residing in the U.S. Before she dated Richardson, Kendrick was in a relationship with Edgar Wright.
