Pixel 3 XL Hands-On Images Leaked Showing Bundled Wired USB-C Headphones
Google is expected to launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in October, and several leaks have already given everyone a look at what to expect. However, a new leak has surfaced showing off the Pixel 3 XL in the wild along with some of its specs.
The leaked images of the Pixel 3 XL were posted by a Russian tech blogger on his Telegram channel. They show off the new Google flagship smartphone in its “clearly white” color option. The unit appears to have been taken out of its official packaging, which also includes USB Type-C headphones. The USB-C headphones look like wired versions of the Google Pixel Buds.
For those who may have forgotten, the Pixel and the Pixel 2 both shipped without bundled headphones of any kind. The Pixel 2 was supposed to ship with USB-C wired headphones, but Google decided to scrap that plan. Evidence of USB-C headphones for the Pixel 2 was discovered when a customer bought the Pixel 2 from Verizon and it included packaging for the wired headphones, according to Android Police.
The inclusion of the USB-C headphones should please a lot of people who are planning to buy the Pixel 3 XL. With the wired headphones included, users can start listening to tunes without having worry about buying compatible headphones.
The unboxed Pixel 3 XL unit was also shown with its screen on and it confirms that the device will indeed arrive with an iPhone X-style notch on top of its display. The image of the handset closely matches previously released CAD renders, so it’s very likely that this is the real deal. The device still has a thick bottom chin, which may be a bigger disappointment than the notch on top of the display.
On the back, the Pixel 3 XL will only have a single-camera setup, which shouldn’t be a surprise to many since Google has proven it can produce fantastic photos through software and AI. Like previous Pixel devices, the Pixel 3 XL features a circular rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Pixel 3 XL specs were also revealed on the handset’s settings. The device is being powered by an octa-core Qualcomm processor, which is presumably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It also has an Adreno 630 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The screen resolution is also listed as 1,440 x 2960 and the display has a pixel density of 494 PPI. On the software side of things, the handset is unsurprisingly running Android 9.0 Pie.
The popular rumor that’s going around right now is that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be announced on Oct. 4.
