KEY POINTS

  • PlayStation Plus members unhappy with May 2020 free offers
  • Sony holds low chances of changing free games for May
  • Sony could change at least one title at best but not assured

Folks confined to their homes have pretty little things to do though some are finding some resolve by playing video games. Some are members of Sony's PlayStation Games subscription, allowing them to play some free games each month. Unfortunately, the PlayStation Plus Games for May 2020 have disappointed most.

Just recently, Sony had announced its PlayStation Plus Games for May. Among the games that members could try for free include "Cities: Skyline" and "Farming Simulator." Members were not happy and satisfied with these simulation games and are now calling on Sony to change them. Most have signed a petition, calling on the company to consider changing the game titles. That petition can be found here.

According to Game Rant, some fans may have been disappointed because they were expecting something else. There were leaks on the PlayStation Plus Games for May offering hinting that it would be "Dark Souls" and "Dying Light" would be the free game titles to be offered. Unfortunately, those were not the ones revealed by Sony, and many are left disgruntled.

The number of people signing the petitioning is growing but it would be best to note that this is no assurance that Sony will change the offered games. There is a slim chance that Sony may change one or both the games mentioned above for its PlayStation Plus Games for May. There was an instance before where Sony had replaced "PES 2019" with "Detroit: Become Human" in the past. It was never explained why the change was done although critics allege it was because the reception on "PES 2019" was poor.

It remains to be seen if Sony will give in to the request. If ever, the closest could be at least changing one of the names mentioned for the PlayStation Plus Games for May. For now, members can continue to enjoy the free games for April. This includes "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" and "Dirt Rally 2.0." The two titles went live last Apr. 7 and will lapse on May 4. Unless changes are announced before then, all PS players can look forward to for now are a couple of simulation games to play with.
