Plume Labs Reveals Wearable Air Pollution Tracker 'Flow' At CES 2017
You can now find where there is less pollution by using the first smart mobile air quality tracker, Flow. Environmental technology company Plume Labs revealed the device this week for CES 2017.
Flow is a tall, sleek device with a versatile leather strap which works as an “environmental companion” by linking it to your jeans, backpack or purse.
The gadget allows users to understand, monitor and lower their exposure to air pollution with its 360° air intake and LED interface. Flow syncs data from the gadget to its smartphone app.
Flow: How It Works
Flow helps user track outdoor and indoor pollution, like particulate matter and dust, exhaust fumes, irritating gas, household chemicals, as well as temperature and humidity. The device also lets users monitor and reduce their exposure to pollution by getting air quality alerts, find ways to get away from bad environments and ideal times for outdoor activity, as well as maping cities to find clean air hotspots.
“For the past two years, Plume Labs has had one mission: helping you stay ahead of air pollution to improve your environmental health,” said Plume Labs in a blog post. “Flow is built to last yet distinctive, discreet yet beautiful – a helpful companion you can be proud to have at your side to find fresh air every day.”
Flow, which was highlighted as a CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree in the ‘Tech for a Better World’ category, comes with a matching dock and cable charger. The beta test will begin in London soon, the company says.
Plume Labs will begin taking pre-orders for Flow in the spring, but those interested can sign-up to get notified on the device’s release.
Plume Labs, which has a team of 20 environment and data experts in Paris, London and Beijing, announced in December it raised $4.5 million for its environmental AI.
