Pokémon Go users: get ready to start catching them all again. The Gen 2 Pokémon update dropped for Google Android and Apple iOS users Thursday ... but don't get your hopes up too fast.

Where Are The Gen 2 Pokémon In the 'Pokémon Go' Update?

The biggest part of the Pokémon Go Gen 2 update includes the addition of more than 80 Pokémon from the second entry in the Pokémon series: Pokémon Gold and Pokémon​ Silver. However at this time (12:10 p.m. EST) it looks like Pokémon Go Gen 2 update doesn't include the main thing users were excited for, the Gen 2 Pokémon.

Niantic, the company behind Pokémon Go, said the Pokémon Go Gen 2 release date would be this week, so we expect the Gen 2 Pokémon to appear in the Pokémon Go update soon, but we'll keep you posted until that happens.

Other updates include new items used for evolution, Pokémon genders, new Berry items for catching and redesigned avatars.
