Pokemon Go’s First Pokemaster Is From New York And He Caught 142 Pokemon
The first Pokemaster has been sighted and he is from New York.
A reddit user, who goes by the handle ftb_hodor, announced Thursday that he had completed his Pokedex of 142 Pokemon in a matter of two weeks.
Out of a total 151 Pokemon, the user had captured 142. Nine of the Pokemon listed in the North American Pokedex are reportedly either extremely rare or region-locked. The ones missing from ftb_hodor’s collection are Mr Mime, Kangaskhan and Farfetch’d, Articuno, Ditto, Mew, Mewtwo, Moltres and Zapdos.
Mr Mime, Kangaskhan and Farfetch’d are region-locked while the others have not been sighted since the game was launched in July. Farfetch’d is exclusive to the Asian continent while Kangaskhan has been sighted in Australia and Mr Mime in Europe.
To “be the very best,” the New Yorker reportedly caught 4,269 Pokemon in total. He covered 95 miles on foot over the course of two weeks and also hatched 303 eggs. His last catch was Omanyte which he evolved into Omastar.
He is currently on level 31 and worked more than 50 hours a week to complete his Pokedex. He said the four Pokestops located across Central Park helped him in his acquisition and the furthest he had to travel to play the game was to New Jersey.
