‘Pokémon Sun And Moon’ Update: Pidgeotite, Steelixite Mega Stones Giveaways Announced For Kanto X Alola Regional Rumble Competition Players
The Pokémon Company just announced the special items it will be gifting “Pokémon Sun and Moon” players as part of the upcoming Battle Competition. Apparently, players who will be joining the in-game event in Game Freak’s Nintendo 3DS-exclusive RPGS are receiving two Mega Stones in the coming days.
Serebii has learned that the next Battle Competition has been scheduled to happen from March 17 through March 19. Ahead of the competition, interested players are requested to register from March 9 through March 16. All entrants of the event will be receiving two Mega Stones: Pidgeotite and Steelixite. Not allowed to be used in this competition are Solgale, Lunala, Mewtwo, Mew, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Necrozma and Magearna.
Introduced in “Pokémon X and Y,” Mega Stones are held items that enable certain Pokémon to Mega Evolve. Bulbapedia explains that for Mega Stones to work the Pokémon should be holding their special stone while their Trainer use their Key Stone in the Mega Ring or Mega Bracelet. While Mega Stones are very useful for Pokémon that are engaged in battles, only one pocket monster is allowed to Mega Evolve per battle.
The Mega Stones The Pokémon Company is giving players for the Kanto X Alola Regional Rumble competition are useful for Mega Evolving Pidgeot and Steelix. NeoSeeker says Pidgeot will transform to Mega Pidgeot, while Steelix will turn to Mega Steelix when Pidgeotite and Steelixite are used.
Meanwhile, the fourth Global Mission has already begun. The third one was a success due to the diligence of “Pokémon Sun and Moon” players. This time around, they are tasked to earn 250,000 Battle Points in the Battle Tree for the Global Mission to be realized on or before its last day on March 14. Players who will help in accomplishing the mission will receive 5 Rare Candy. If the total Battle Points reaches or exceeds 500,000, players will be getting a Heavy Ball.
