'Pool Boy' Giancarlo Granda Says Jerry Falwell Jr. 'Enjoyed Watching' His Wife's Sexual Affair

The sordid affair ensnaring Jerry Falwell Jr and his wife, Becki, just got messier with the lover of Falwell's wife revealing the evangelical leader consented to their affair and was sometimes in the same room when they had sex.

News of the affair led to a confusing series of reports concerning his position as president of Liberty University, which released a statement late Monday saying Falwell had tendered and withdrawn his resignation following media reports earlier in the day.

Giancarlo Granda, a former pool boy who later became the couple's business partner, told Reuters he had sex with Becki Falwell “multiple times per year.” He said their liaisons, which began in 2012 when he was only 20 years-old, took place at hotels in Miami and New York, and sometimes at the Falwell's home in Virginia.

But even more damning is Granda's claim Falwell was present, and even looked on in approval, as he had sex with his wife. When he wasn't there, Granda claims Falwell often viewed their affair live on video cameras.

To prove his accusations he was Becki's lover for eight years, Granda showed Reuters emails, text messages, voice messages and other evidence.

“Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room,” said Granda in an interview.

Granda said he and the Falwells eventually had a falling out. He claimed the reason for this was his desire to end his ties with the couple after a business dispute. Granda said he wanted to negotiate a buyout from the business arrangement with the Falwells.

On Sunday, Falwell issued a statement to the Washington Examiner admitting his wife's affair with Granda and denying his involvement. Falwell claimed Granda had been trying to extort money from the couple in exchange for his silence, a charge Granda denied.

Falwell admitted “Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved." He said Granda became "increasingly angry and aggressive" as his affair with Becki continued, leading to the extortion attempt. Falwell, however, did not present proof of Granda's extortion.

In reply to Falwell's extortion claim, Granda said any allegation of extortion "is falsely, defamatory and belied by clear documentary evidence. The Falwell’s attempt to sandbag me, and the Examiner, with a last minute story without providing the Examiner clear evidence that this was not simply an ‘affair’ with concocted allegations of extortion reeks desperation. The WHOLE truth will come out.”

Falwell was earlier suspended from his position as president of Liberty University after a risqué photo posted on Instagram showed him with his arm around another woman while both were aboard a yacht.

Falwell said that during his wife's long affair, he became very depressed and lost 80 pounds. He later reconciled with Becki.

The Falwells are ardent supporters of President Donald Trump. Becki Falwell is a staunch opponent of LGBTQA+ rights.
