In a rather innocent moment in the storied life of one of Christianity's most revered personalities, Pope Francis granted a nun's request for a kiss – provided that she doesn't bite him.

The nun's honest appeal reverberated during the Pope's weekly General Audience Wednesday, said CNN. The pontiff was walking through a large hall when the religious woman asked him for a kiss.

“Bacio, Papa!” shouted the nun. The pope responded and said, “Oh, (but) you bite!” laughter then ensued from among the devotees.

“I'll give you a kiss, but you promise you must stay calm. Don't bite!” added Francis, according to Yahoo.

The jovial nun agreed to the Pope's terms and was rewarded with a kiss on her right cheek. She then thanked the Pope, saying “Grazie, Papa.”

The exchange came after Pope Francis slapped a woman's hand to free himself at St. Peter's Square on New Year's Eve.

Pope Francis apologized for this inadequate action the next day.

He described the incident as a “bad example,” said CNN.
